ESTsoft (CEO Chung Sang-won), a company specializing in AI services, announced on the 22nd that it is unveiling an AI bank teller with DGB Daegu Bank. The two signed an agreement in August to produce and pilot the AI bank teller.
The AI bank teller the two have unveiled is named 'Han A-reum' — a pure Korean name meaning lovely and stately.
Because Han A-reum will serve as the face of DGB Daegu Bank, the two focused on creating an image that inspires trust, using ESTsoft's 'AI Persona' AI human production technology, which generates a person who does not exist in the world.
Because ESTsoft's AI humans combine with ChatGPT to provide conversational services, AI bank teller Han A-reum goes beyond a conventional chatbot to give customers an experience close to face-to-face service. The two companies also developed a range of gestures optimized for financial services, such as greetings and pledges, to raise the quality of the finished AI teller.
Han A-reum began work in earnest on the 1st, deployed in DGB Daegu Bank's internal broadcasts and employee training programs. In November she drew attention at the 'Korea ICT Convergence Expo', where she delivered 'digital financial service training' embedded in a kiosk, as a service for improving information access for older people, children and others underserved in finance. From next year she will meet DGB Daegu Bank customers embedded in kiosks and ATMs for face-to-face service, with improved usability. Because she can speak multiple languages, she will also be used actively to strengthen DGB Daegu Bank's global services as well as its domestic ones.
ESTsoft CEO Chung Sang-won said: "We expect AI bank teller Han A-reum to contribute a great deal to accelerating DGB Daegu Bank's financial digitalization," adding, "Alongside running this project successfully, we plan to develop our conversational AI human business more actively still."
