ESTsoft is teaming up with Shinhan Cubeon to introduce Korea's first AI human home trainer in the healthcare market.
ESTsoft (CEO Chung Sang-won), a company specializing in AI services, announced on the 12th that it is launching a home training service using AI humans together with digital healthcare company Shinhan Cubeon (CEO Lee Yong-beom).
The launch comes just three months after the two companies began development. Early this year they confirmed that ESTsoft's AI humans run at a commercially viable level even in dynamic settings, and signed a memorandum of understanding followed by a full agreement to develop healthcare AI humans — resulting in this home training class.
With the first AI human built from its own IP now successfully introduced to the healthcare market, ESTsoft can further strengthen the revenue and profit base of the new AI businesses it is currently pursuing aggressively.
The service launched by the two companies embeds 'Kim Yi-so', an AI human built from ESTsoft's own IP, in Shinhan Cubeon's AI home training app service 'Howfit'. AI human 'Kim Yi-so' appears as a Pilates and yoga instructor running home training classes within 'Howfit', which uses AI motion recognition to help users exercise with correct form on their own.
AI human 'Kim Yi-so' generates images not only from the front but from left, right, above and below, going beyond the multi-angle limits of existing AI humans. By advancing its in-house AI technologies — 'face detection', 'facial landmark analysis' and 'person generation' — the company created a three-dimensional AI human that handles a range of movements. Kim Yi-so was also produced in ultra-high definition, hard to tell from a real person, using high-quality data from ESTsoft's own world-class studio, and the addition of relatable IP gives users an optimal exercise environment.
The class is officially titled 'Virtual Home Trainer Kim Yi-so AI Home Training'. It runs as a four-week curriculum of eight classes totaling 120 minutes, targeted by exercise goal from cardio to upper body, lower body and core. The difficulty was set at beginner level so more users can experience AI humans. The class is currently free through a special promotion in the Howfit app.
Starting with this class, the two companies plan to extend AI human-based services to other subjects including yoga, meditation and diet management, making active use of the AI human IP ESTsoft has secured across industries including entertainment and education.
Shinhan Cubeon CEO Lee Yong-beom said: "We expect exercise content using AI humans to give customers a fresh experience," adding, "We have concentrated both companies' know-how into this new service, and we hope many people will use it."
ESTsoft CEO Chung Sang-won said: "I am confident that highly advanced AI humans will bring innovation to the healthcare market as they have to education, finance and other industries," adding, "We plan to keep strengthening our collaboration so that more advanced healthcare services continue to reach the market."
The virtual human market ESTsoft is pursuing as a new AI business has enormous growth potential and is drawing worldwide attention. Global market research firm Emergen Research has forecast that the global virtual human market will grow to USD 527.58 billion by 2030.
