ZUMinternet (CEO Lee Sung-hyun) announced on the 20th that it has added a 'Good and Bad News Classifier' to its all-in-one investment information platform InvestingView.
InvestingView is an investment information app that embodies ZUMinternet's new value of 'changing the game in finance and content, more easily and conveniently'. It launched in March in response to customers who want to obtain investment information across categories easily in one place.
The 'Good and Bad News Classifier' analyzes the impact a news story is likely to have on a share price and presents that alongside the article as key information; ZUMinternet has been preparing the feature since InvestingView's launch to help users make investment decisions.
Specifically, the service analyzes the content of the news the user is reading and indicates whether it is good or bad news, classifying it on a 100-point scale: 0–39 as 'bad news', 40–60 as 'neutral' and 61–100 as 'good news'. The analysis is then presented as a sentence, a score and an emoticon — so an article analyzed as good news carries the line 'This news analyzes as good news' along with a score and emoticon at the top of the article.
The classifier ZUMinternet has introduced is built on BERT, the natural language processing (NLP) model that underpins ChatGPT, chosen for its strengths in overall sentence comprehension and grasping context. The classifier is that model fine-tuned with the company's own extensive data.
A ZUMinternet representative said: "Since being designated an innovative financial service company, ZUMinternet has moved quickly to introduce services that provide investment information," adding, "With the financial sector adopting AI technology actively, ZUMinternet likewise plans to keep introducing AI-based services that maximize convenience for investors."
ZUMinternet's InvestingView is currently available on the Google Play Store.
