ESTsoft (CEO Chung Sang-won), a company specializing in AI services, announced on the 8th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Korea Software Industry Association (KOSA), Naver Cloud and the Smart Human Resources Development Institute to jointly pursue an 'education program for developing Korea's AI talent'.
The signing ceremony was held on the 10th of last month at ESTsoft's headquarters, attended by key figures from each company and organization including ESTsoft CEO Chung Sang-won, KOSA Vice Chairman Seo Sung-il, KOSA Executive Director Park Yeon-jeong, Naver Cloud Executive Director Lim Tae-gun and Smart Human Resources Development Institute Director Ban Su-kyung.
At the ceremony the participants agreed that securing and developing AI specialists matters more than anything for the growth of an AI industry that will determine national competitiveness, and resolved to build a cooperation framework to that end.
Specifically, they agreed to build a range of cooperation frameworks linking industry and education, including ▲running education programs for developing AI talent, such as building AI-specialized curricula, and ▲pursuing programs that develop job-ready AI talent matched to industry needs and connect them to employment.
Through this, the partners intend to build specialist education programs in AI and provide an environment for continued educational support and for people to put their skills to work.
ESTsoft CEO Chung Sang-won said: "The basis of competitiveness in the AI industry is expanding rapidly, from foundational technologies such as LLMs and semiconductors to the application and diffusion delivered through software," adding, "We are at a moment when developing AI talent matters more than ever."
He continued: "As a company leading the development of AI talent, ESTsoft intends to take the lead in developing AI specialists and building an environment where they can work — through our own curriculum built on our global AI services and through varied cooperation with partner organizations."
ESTsoft has been working to develop AI and digital talent since 2023, when it was selected as a leading company in the Ministry of Employment and Labor's K-Digital Training program.
More recently the company has focused on building its own distinctive curriculum, including an education program based on PERSO.ai — its global AI SaaS service for AI human video generation and auto dubbing — and collaborations with AI companies in other fields.
